What a driver actually earns on imcomingg

16 June 2026 · 9 min read · For drivers

We are not going to print a headline number for what you can earn, because it would be fiction. Fuel prices, city rates, vehicle costs and how many hours you drive vary too much between Lagos and Milan for a single figure to mean anything. What we can tell you is the structure of the day — and the structure is where drivers on this platform make or lose money.

The problem with a ride-only day

A driver taking only passenger rides has two peaks and a hole in the middle. Morning commute, evening commute, and four to five hours between them where the phone is quiet. Those dead hours are pure cost: you are parked, the vehicle is depreciating, and you are still away from home.

Every service on imcomingg other than rides exists to fill that hole.

A day that fills itself

TimeWorkWhy it fits
07:00–10:00Short ridesCommuter peak; highest per-kilometre rate of the day
11:30–13:30Tiffin runsFixed route, fixed time, guaranteed money in the dead middle
13:30–16:30Parcels and custom jobsBusinesses send documents and parts in the afternoon
17:00–20:00Short ridesEvening peak
Weekends / nightsLong ridesAirports and intercity; one booking can equal a whole morning

The driver working this shape is not driving more hours than the ride-only driver. They are driving the same hours with fewer of them empty.

Quoting a price you can defend

Because you set the price in chat, quoting is a skill worth taking seriously. A defensible quote has three parts:

  1. The number. One figure, all in, no "plus tolls, plus waiting" surprises unless you name them upfront.
  2. The reason. One short line: "That includes the toll and up to 15 minutes waiting." Riders accept a number with a reason far more often than a number alone.
  3. The limit. What happens outside the agreement: "After 15 minutes I charge [rate] per additional 10 minutes."
A quote with a reason and a limit gets accepted more often, and disputed almost never. Vague quotes get haggled every time.

Know your floor before you open the chat

Work out, once, what one kilometre actually costs you: fuel, tyres, servicing, insurance, and the vehicle's value dropping. Add what an hour of your time is worth. That number is your floor. Any job below it makes you poorer while looking like work — and on a quiet afternoon, a low job is genuinely tempting. Knowing the floor is what lets you say no calmly.

What we take

Your account is free to create and free to keep. There is no joining fee and no monthly fee, and you agree the fare directly with the rider — so what you agree is what you are owed. That is the deal, and it is the reason to build your regulars here rather than rent them from someone else.

No joining fee, no monthly fee. You set your own price with every rider.
